National Ambassador, Mark Blackwell, Brings Bikes to Park City, Utah!

All Kids Bike National Ambassador, Mark Blackwell, is an excellent example of an Ambassador playing a significant role in raising awareness for getting children on bikes at an early age. “As a life-long two-wheeler (bicycles and motorcycles), I found my personal beliefs and goals aligned perfectly with the vision and mission of All Kids Bike, and I wanted to help push this initiative forward. When I grew

up, we all rode bikes. That was our form of transportation and freedom. The trend today is both disappointing and concerning. There is too much obesity in America, and many kids spend too much time on the couch and screens. Making bikes and helmets available for kindergarten classes and training for the PE teachers is proving to have a major, positive impact on reversing those trends.” Says Mark.

Mark, already a two-wheeled enthusiast, sees the power and importance of getting kids on bikes in school. As a lifelong bicyclist, very passionate about two wheels, Mark is also a board member for the Intense Bicycle Brand company as well as a member of the AMA Hall of Fame, the Trail Blazers Hall of Fame, and the Polaris Hall of Fame. That being said, it’s very rewarding to be able to give children across America the same opportunity to fall in love with this skill, one that offers so many lifelong opportunities and benefits.

Mark took his commitment to the next level and chose to fund the VERY FIRST Learn-to-Ride Kindergarten PE Program in Utah, delivering Strider Bikes, helmets, and curriculum to Jeremy Ranch Elementary School in Park City.

“I was thrilled to see how smooth and easy it was. Chip Cook, Jeremy Ranch’s kindergarten PE teacher, was so enthusiastic, and flew through the training! The bikes and helmets arrived and were quickly and easily assembled. The kids’ reaction when the bikes were presented was priceless! I am hopeful that by the end of 2020, we can have all the kindergartners in Park City, Utah, on bikes!”

We see our National Ambassadors as one of the MOST POWERFUL ways we can build support for the All Kids Bike movement. We’re on a mission to teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class. Our ambassadors back that mission in unique ways through their own personal and professional passions.
